The Labour Party (LP) in Kogi State has affirmed Hon. Hamza Muhammed as the running mate of Barrister Adejoh Okeme, the party's candidate for the November 11, 2023 governorship election in the state.
This is contained in a statement made available to The Reporters by the Publicity Secretary of LP in the state, Mr.Idakwo Emmanuel on Friday in Lokoja.
He said the affirmation followed the official release of the final list of political parties' governorship candidates by the Independent national electoral commission (INEC).
Emmanuel emphasized the competence, character, capacity, and credibility of the combination of the Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates of the Labour Party.
He described Hon.Hamza Muhammed, who comes from Ahoko in Kogi Local Government Area of the state as a" detribalized, liberal, resourceful, purposeful and energetic young philanthropist."
"He was born to the noble family of Late Ogabo of Ahoko, Alhaji Isa Hamza.
"He is a Grassroots Mobilizer, Political Influencer and is involved in Championing Humanitarian Services across the world, due to various services he has rendered in the Diplomatic Desk as an Immigration Officer.
" He began his early education at L.S.M.B Primary School, Gegu Beki, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1978 and further secured admission to Government Technical College, Esie Iludun, Kwara State and passed the City and Guild of London Institute in 1983.

The LP image maker also described Muhammed as a man of tenacity, resourcefulness, influence, and understanding of the methods and purpose of adding value to people around him;
He quoted Muhammed as assuring the people that the Labour Party agenda is Kogi restructuring agenda aimed at further uniting the people of the state, adding that all measures are put in place to move the state from a consumption state to a production hub.
According to the statement, Hon. Hamza Muhammed was recruited into Nigerian Immigration Service in February 1988, where he served as a regular officer in various capacities while furthering his education.
"He obtained Higher National Diploma(HND) in Building from Kaduna Polytechnic, PGD Environmental Planning, and Protection at the University of Abuja in 2012, obtained MSc in Environmental Resources Management 2017 at Nasarawa State University Keffi, while a Ph.D. in same course in is In view.
Since 1988 Hon. Hamza Mohammed has worked as a regular immigration officer in various capacities in the visa and residency department, diplomatic Desk, passport and other travel documents, and office of the provost marshal security unit.
Other areas he worked on are: Ecowas and African Affairs unit, Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja and rose to the Rank of Assistant comptroller of Immigration and retired from active public service in February 2023.
He is up till date very active and still works as a consultant to various organizations, according to Emmanuel.
