The 721 Kogi state Pilgrims for this year's Hajj, on Thursday 19th Dhul Qiddah 1444H/8th June 2023, visited both spiritual and historical sites in the City of Madina and its environs, in continuation of their activities in Madina.
Our correspondent reports that prominent among the places visited were, Quba, the first Mosque built by Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam in which a reward for Salat offered here is equivalent for a performance of Umrah (lesser Hajj).
They also vidited Qiblatain Mosque, a place where the direction for Salat was changed from Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem to Makkah and Uhud mountain where the second war against the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam and the Muslims was fought.
The pilgrims also visited the site showing the the feet of 72 famous martyrs, including the gallant Hamza, the Prophet's uncle were buried.
Our correspondent also reports that all the pilgrims will leave for Makkah on Monday, 23rd Dhul-Qiddah, 1444H/12th June, 2023, in preparation for the real Hajj activities after concluding the Hajj preliminaries which started from Madina.
