Financial expert delights over steady rise in revenue generation in kogi.

 Lokoja-based financial expert, Mr.Felix Adebayo, has expressed delight over the consistent rise in the revenue profile of Kogi State, under the watch of the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.


He expressed his feeling in an interview with the correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Friday.


According to him, the present All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, had surpassed the previous administrations with evidence to show, in terms of attracting dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

He argued that the efforts of the state government in revenue generation had shown in terms of the corresponding execution of many projects which had a direct bearing on the social and economic life of the people and the development of the state.


Adebayo identified the Reference hospital, Okene, Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, and the construction/reconstruction of roads across the three senatorial districts of the state as some of the projects of Yahaya Bello- administration.

Our correspondent reports that the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Salihu Sule Enehe, disclosed that the Service had enhanced efforts in revenue generation by hitting N18 billion in 2022 and targeted N23 billion in revenue in 2023.

Enehe, who disclosed this in the last edition of the house journal of the Service, added that the organization had enhanced convenience, efficiency, and productivity in e-tax services to ensure that issues concerning touting and leakages in tax receipts become history.

The Executive Chairman, who noted that the world had gone the way of technological innovation, said the Service must key in to ensure ease of doing business and rendering of effective services to the taxpayers.

He expressed the hope that the e-tax methodology adopted by the Service, including other efforts to boost revenue generation, would cause improved management of tax payments in the State and gear3 the Service towards improving better service delivery in the State.
