The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Akeem Yusuf, has ordered watertight security across the State for peaceful Eid-El-Kabir Celebrations.

The CP gave the order on Monday in Lokoja during the monthly Conference with Senior Officers, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical and operational Commanders in the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by SP. William Ovye Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Command and made available a copy to The Reporters on Monday.

He directed the Officers to beef up security ahead of the celebration to prevent any untoward situation in their Area of Responsibility (AOR) throughout the period and beyond.

The police boss further told all Divisional Police Officers to put in measures to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

Yusuf also directed the officers to deploy other operational assets to carry out confidence building and crime prevention patrol on major highways, residential and vulnerable points, places of worship, and other places of interest.

The CP, while congratulating the Muslim Faithful in the State on the occasion of the 2023 Eid-El Kabir celebration, reiterated the Command's preparedness and commitment, working in synergy with other Security services, in ensuring adequate security of lives and properties.

The CP also assured the people that the Command would deny space for criminal elements to thrive in and around the State.

He, however, advised the good people of Kogi State to remain security conscious throughout the period, calling on all law-abiding citizens for their cooperation to curtail any act of criminality in the State.
