The candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Austin Abu Achimugu, has called on the electorate rise to the clarion call take Kogi back from perpetual and abject poverty.
He made the call on Saturday in Lokoja when he addressed stakeholders and supporters of the party during the his official unveiling by the party.
Achimugu promised to revamp the ailing Kogi economy, if elected as the vernor of the state, come November 11, 2023.
The candidate, who was unveiled alongside with his running mate, Deji Bamidele, expressed regret that Kogi had been ripped off of its prosperity, stressing, however,that" there is urgent need to take the state back, now, through rescue cause.
According to him, time has for AAC to collaborate with the people of the State to move Kogi to the next pedestal, stressing that if elected, the people’s contributions would be focus of his administration.
“Our administration will be people -oriented and will jointly move the people out of the current poverty level.
“Kogi State needs structural adjustment and my administration would also ensure conducive environment for the youth to make impact on governance.
“They have weaponized poverty in the state. I am prepared to take Kogi out of the woods.
“We will ensure people from this great state are proud of where they come from. We want to build a state where every indigene will be proud to associate with Kogi state anywhere in the world.
“Education, health sectors would be given more priority in the ACC administration in Kogi State,” he said.
Contributing Engr. Deji Bamidele, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by Achimugu and the party’s stakeholders and emphasized the party's determination to win the election.
