The Chairman of the Lokoja/Koto Traditional Council, Ohimege Igu Kotonkarfe, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Abdulrazak Isa Koto, says the ancestors of the ancient town are supportive of the Governorship aspiration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Kogi State APC Governorship candidate ahead of the November 11 election.
The Royal Father made this known when Alhaji Ododo paid him a courtesy visit at his Palace in Kotonkarfe, saying that Kotonkarfe would play a big role in ensuring a smooth victory for Alhaji Ododo.
"You have my prayers, you have my blessings and you have the support of the people. Today, I give you an ancestral blessing to come out victorious.
Earlier, the candidate of the party had extolled the Royal Father for fostering unity in the entire Kogi Local Government Area, commending him for ensuring peace and security in the entire Kingdom.
"For me, it is a homecoming and a visit to a father that has always been a blessing to me. I thank you for supporting my Boss, HE Alhaji Yahaya Bello to succeed. I have no doubt that you will always play a fatherly role to make us succeed.
"Our administration will consolidate on the gains we have recorded in security, education, healthcare, infrastructural development as well as human capital development. We owe the people good governance as we cannot let down the flag of progress, hoisted by Alhaji Yahaya Bello". Ododo said.
In his remarks, a leader of the APC in the Local Government Area and indeed Kogi West and the Galadima of Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Saliu Akawu Saidu, expressed confidence in the the capacity of the candidate and the party to record victory.
"The candidate came to see me and we have agreed to work together and by the grace of Allah, he shall be successful. He has come to Your Royal Majesty for blessing and I have no doubt that our father will bless him", he said.
Others who delivered goodwill messages during the visit were the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Deedat Ozigi; Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon. Bashir Gegu and others who assured the people that Ododo would not disappoint the good people of Kogi State.
Alhaji. Usman Ododo was received by thousands of supporters as he entered Lokoja to a rousing welcome.
