The People Democratic Party,PDP, kogi State chapter, on Wednesday, handled over the flag to its flag bearer in the November 11, Governorship candidate, Sen.Dino Melaye in Lokoja.

Our Correspondent reports that the mammoth crowd was witnessed by the stalwarts of the party from the 21 local government areas of the state.

Signatories at event include former Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and Chief Tunde Ogbeha, Chairmen of the party through out the state among, women and youths others.

In his acceptance speech, Melaye promised to introduce ideals into the system of governance, if given the mandate.

According to him, the state has every reason to be among the comity of stares in Nigeria and the world at large with enviable social and economic development in view of its rich and abundant natural and human resources.

He said he would tap into the intellectual resources of the citizens of the state staying abroad with a view to bringing them to the state to establish robotic engineering department at Prince Abubakar Audu University,Anyigba to kick start science and technological development of the state.

The governorship candidate also promised to harness the various cultural festivals in the state, to attract local and foreign tourists as well as export some ot the cultural values to the outside world.

Melaye also promised to leverage on the opportunity of the availability of some loose funds  at the international community such as the United Nations to access some funds to embark on many health, education among others which have direct bearing on the life of the people of the state.

He said the task of taking kogi to enviable social and economic development needed a governor that can think outside the box and translate modern idea of development to reality. assuring the people that he possess such quality and experience to govern the state in the next political dispensation.
The governorsh candidate,who promised that substantial percentage of the revenue coming to the state would be used to pay workers' salaries, pension and gratuity, said he gear efforts to increase the internally generated revenue to spread prosperity.

He thanked the state holders of the party for ensuring his electoral victory at the primaries and urged his co-contestants to forgive him where ever he must wronged them and team up him to ensure his victory in the forthcoming governirship poll.
