A middle-aged mother, Mrs Salamotu Aminu, has been allegedly murdered by her stepson, Idris Aminu in Kogi state after he failed to poison her.
A correspondent of The Reporters gathered that the young man, allegedly killed the victim with a pestle in the Ihima Obeiba Ebozohu community, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi state while she was asleep on Saturday night.
According to sources, the suspect had attempted to poison the woman with poison but she survived.
The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), the Police Command in the state, SP. William Aya, who confirmed the crime said the command had arrested the suspect.
He added that the command had commenced an investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to the crime.
According to Aya, the remains of Salamotu were discovered by her daughter in her room.
