No fewer than eight persons lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in a road accident, which happened at Kili village on Darazo-Kari Federal Highway, Bauchi state, North East Nigeria.
The Sector Commander, Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi state,CC Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the accident on Friday, in Bauchi said the accident occured Thursday night.
In a press statement in Bauchi, Abdullahi said the accident involved grey Volkswagen Sharon mini-bus with vehicle registration number BCH-465-XA belongimg to the fleet of NURTW used for commercial purposes.
Abdullahi attributed the likely cause of the crash to tyre burst, adding that available information revealed that the bus was at top speed.
According to him,the bus was carrying15 people comprising four male adults, six female adults, two male children and three female children, before vehicle crashed.
He said his men had deposited the remains of the deceased passengers at the General Hospital, Darazo.
