Free movement of vehicle resumes on Abuja-Lokoja Highway----FRSC

Free flow of vehicular movement  has resumed on the Lokoja-Abuja highway, North Central Nigeria,  after the autocrash that happened at the Kotonkarfe axis of the highway  on Sunday 


The Kogi State Sector Commander of the FRSC, CC.Stephen Dalung, who disclosed during giving update on the accident involving an articulated vehicle and another vehicle on the road said the positive development was at the instance of his men who cleared the road to ensure free flow of traffick.

unit Command in Koton Karfe , Kogi State, was caused by speed and loss of control by the driver of the Toyota Hiace bus.

Dalung explained that the Toyota Hiace conveying pepper summersaulted, crossed the road and  in the process,hit an Abuja bound DAF articulated vehicle laden with PMS, thereby leading to an inferno.

He said four persons were rescued from the accident, adding that no live was lost in the crash.

“My men have carried out rescue of 4 persons from the toyota Hiace and the articulated vehicle with two of the injured victims taken to Ideal Hospital Koton Karfe while other operatives are on traffic control to ensure free flow of vehicles across the scene.

“The inferno has subsided but still burning.

“There is need for strict observance of speed limit and caution on the part of motorists, due to certain bad portions of the road,” he advised.
