The Council of Ulama'u, Kogi State Chapter, has inaugurated the Local Organisibg Committee ,LOC,for the forthcoming State Quran Competition to be hosted by Adavi Local Government Area of the state.
Alhaji Nazifi Amodu Ekpe, a member of the publicity Committee,whondisclosed this in a statement he signed and made a copy to The Reporters on Sunday, added that the inauguration took place on 30th Shawwal, 1444AH/20th at Adavi LG, pointing out that Justice Olorunfemi (rtd) and Alhaji Baba'ango Idris led the Council delegation to the occasion.
"The LOC is chaired by Alhaji Abdulsalam Maikarfi.
"Series of Committees were set up to work under the LOC and members from the State Quran Competition were co-opted into the Committees to ensure optimum performance,"Ekpe explained.
In his acceptance speech,the LOC Chairman appreciated members for finding him worthy of the appointment.
He stressed the need for muslim parents to inculcate the virtues of the Quran in their children by attaching their heart to it to elicit the desired success " in both world".
The Ohi of Adavi, in his vote of thanks, also appreciated the Council and prayed that he lives to witness the programme.
The traditional ruler promised that he would assist in reaching out to rich individuals for the required resources to host the competition.
He, however, sought for prayers from Imam of Ebiraland, for peace and development of the land.
