The Management of AEDC,Kogi Region, has blamed the unstable power supply being experienced in recent times in Lokoja, Kogi State and its environs,on insufficient supply allocation.
This is contained in a statement released to The Reporters, an online publication, in Lokoja on Thursday by the regional office of the company.s
AEDC aid:"We have had and will continue to implement load curtailment directives across the region to manage the situation until the situation is stabilized.This will involve occasional interruption of supply.
"We, therefore, regret the inconveniences this might cause to our customers."
Our Correspondent recalls that a Career Diplomat,Amb.Godknows Igali, had stressed the need for the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to fix the energy sector on assumption of the leadership of Nigeria to boost the nation's economy.
He gave the advice when he delivered the Inaugural Engineer Makoju Annual lecture series at the Federal University, Lokoja in honour of the late Engr.(Dr) Joseph Oyeyani Makoju.
The deceased, who was special adviser to three Nigerian presidents in addition to holding various management positions in Cement industry in Nigeria, was also noted for his passion for the development of the energy sector of the country.
The quest lecturer spoke on "The Apogee of National Service and Vision for the Nigerian Power Sector: Reflection on the Life and times of Engr (Dr) Joseph Oyeyani Makoju".
Amb.Igali called on the incoming administration to turn its search light on the transmission backbone, distribution of power, funding and financial liquidity among others to ensure the realisation of the desired power ector.
