A Don, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa Yaqub, who lectured at the Kwara State University, Malete, has died in his house, Ilorin, state capital while sleeping.
The Registrar of the institution, Dr Kikelomo Sallee,who confirmed the story, said the deceased died on monday morning.
According to him, Ajeigbe was the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education and Acting Director of Sports at the institution.
Sallee said: “With a heavy heart, we announce the death of the Head of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education and Acting Director of Sports of the Kwara State University, Dr. Ajeigbe Issa Yaqub.
"The University mourns this loss of a committed member of staff, we pray Allah forgives all his shortcomings and admits him into Jannat ul Firdaus.
“May Allah also console his family, friends and the University Community.”
Our Correspondent gathered that the Islamic funeral prayer for the deceased lecturer was held in Budo-Egba, Asa Local Government Area of the state.
