Lokoja thrown into darkness, AEDC fingers sabotage.

All homes in Lokoja, kogi State capital ,using Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) line, have been thrown into total darkness spanning  48 hours as at Saturday morning.

Our Correspondent in Lokoja reports that the development has slowed down social and economic activities, especially those dealing in perishable consumable food items as well as recreational outfits among others income generating outfits.

A reliable source at the AEDC, Lokoja, who spoke with our Correspondent on the condition of anonymity, attributed the outage to breakdown in transmission line in Lokoja.

According to the source, engineers from AEDC, Lokoja discovered the problem on Friday and quickly moved to action by tracing the fault.

The source added that in the course of their efforts,the engineers  discovered instances of sabotage by some people who tampered with the transmission line.

"As a result of this, our engineers will repair the fault line only to discover that the line is off again. 

"We are not relenting effort as all hands are deck to find lasting solution to the problem and restore electricity to our consumers,as soon as possible," the source said.

The AEDC official, therefore,advised the public to exercise patient with the company.
