Mr.Daniel Ogoshi, the official driver of the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor,Dr Emmanuel Akabe, has been abducted by yet to be identified kidnappers.
The Reporters recalls that the event is coming about a week after former Deputy Governor of the state,Prof.OnjeGye-Wado, was released by kidnappers in the state, after collecting N4 ransom.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded for N70 million for the professor of law to retain his freedom.
Our Correspondent gathered that in the latest incident, Ogoshi was abducted from the residence of his friend around 9:30 p.m on Tuesday at Ombi 2, College Of Agriculture, Kwandere road, Lafia, leaving his phone and car behind.
A family friend, who confirmed the incident, said he received a distress call around 9 p.m, that Ogoshi had been taken away by kidnappers.
The family friend, who opted for anonymity,described the incident as one too many in the state.
He said upon receiving the message,he immediately alarted the police command which responded by deploying its operatives to the scene but that the kidnappers had fled the scene vwith the victim before the security could reach them.
The Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO for the Police Command in the state,DSP Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the incident said that the Command had begun the hot chase for the kidnappers as well as to rescue the victim alive,among other measures.
