Fire guts building of a revered traditional ruler in Nigeria.

A Friday night inferno has razed one of the buildings situated within the courtyard of the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.

Our Correspondent gathered tha the incident,which happened  at about 11:30p m, allegedly caused by power surge,exploded through electrical appliances in the apartment.

Comrade Moses Olafare,the Director, Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Comrade  confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday in Ile-Ife,Osun State, South West Nigeria.

The media aide to the revered traditional ruler said that the inferno did not spread beyond the affected building at a section of the palace premises, adding that no record of casualties, injuries, or even the loss of any cultural item during the incident.

According to him,the fire was swiftly put off through the combined efforts of the Government Fire Service, OAU Fire Service & Palace Emergency Control Unit.
